  • What's the value of an MBA for today's professionals?

It's almost a requirement to move up to certain levels of management in larger companies today. If you are interested in advancementโ€”or at least removing potential barriers to itโ€”it's an essential component.

  • What's the best advice you could give your students?

Read directions. Don't assume you know what is being asked of you. In most cases, it is probably exactly what you expect, but the biggest mistakes I see are because something was asked to be done differently than what was presumed.

  • Why did you start teaching?

I started teaching as part of the requirements of my graduate assistant position in my psychology program. I continued to teach as an adjunct at Tarrant County College while working in the industry, which helped me decide to go back and get my Ph.D.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

โ€œGetting to Yesโ€ by Roger Fisher and William Ury
