  • What's the value of an MBA for today's professionals?

To me, the value of an MBA is that it demonstrates understanding of the economic and societal context in which business operates, and how businesses manage resources, innovate products and processes and generally create wealth in our society.

  • What's the best advice you could give your students?

Read the materials, watch the videos and then give some time for the material to sink in, as economics isn't always the most obvious and easy of subjects to learn. If in doubt, always ask!

  • What qualities make someone particularly successful in business or management?

I believe that the combination of vision, strategic thinking, rigorous analysis, and effective communication give rise to particularly successful business people.

  • How do you see online learning affecting the future of education?

Positive effects: increased access, locational freedom. Negative effects: less human interaction, more self-motivation required.

  • Why did you start teaching?

Because it's part of my job description! Seriously, I became an academic because I really enjoy imparting knowledge to minds that are eager to learn and observe the world around them. I truly believe that learning is a lifelong pastime that enriches you as you move through the stages of living on our amazing planet.

  • What is the one book you think everyone should read?

โ€œBrave New Worldโ€ by Aldous Huxley
