What’s the best advice you could give your students?
Managers must continually enhance the value that they offer an organization. Just as a company must strive to provide customers with greater value, employees who develop and refine skills, knowledge, and decision-making capabilities will have the greatest value to employers.
What first sparked your interest in strategic management, and what has kept you passionate about it throughout your academic career?
When taking the capstone course in business at the University of Alabama, I became intrigued with how companies positioned themselves in the marketplace and chose to compete. Before the course was concluded, I knew that I wanted to pursue a doctoral degree with a major in strategic management. I am still as enthused about researching and writing about the latest strategic management theory and practice as I was while a student in the capstone course.
How do you see online learning affecting the future of education?
The adoption of online education has greatly improved accessibility of graduate education to working professionals. The asynchronous approach used in the TAMU-CC MBA program allows busy professionals to manage their schedules to complete course assignments while not abandoning work and family obligations.

I enjoy everything that South Texas offers from year-round outdoor recreation to great food and a warm and friendly culture. Being out in nature or golfing with family or friends on a sunny afternoon is a great recharge before a new week begins!
